time-like a baby with rainbows shooting out of its eyes

I'm on a marathon week again, work day 10 of 12 in a row.
It's ok, because at the end of it is my lovely beach and the soothing sounds of sold-out crowds, and that makes it alll worth it.
That and, you know, paying the bills.

Anyway, this song has been so on my head and the lyrics are hauntingly appropriate. Pink Floyd man, it's like having a conversation with someone 10 years older than you and they make a lot of snapping motions in reference to how fast your life goes by. Kind of depressing in a way, but definitely important to keep in mind I think. That way you don't have to feel bad about doing all the fun stuff you want to do, even if it means you can barely pay your car note. It's ok. Barely counts.
Not that I know from experience or anything.

Ticking away the hours that make up a dull day, you fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way.

Kicking around on a piece of ground in your hometown,
waiting for someone or something to show you the way.

Tired of lying in the sunshine, staying home to watch the rain.
You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you.
No one told you when to run, you've missed the starting gun

So you run and you run to catch up with the sun,
but it's sinking.

Racing around,
to come up behind you again.

The sun is the same, in a relative way
but you're older.

Shorter of breath and one day to closer to death.

Check out the flaming lips/stardeath and the white dwarf's version here. Here's hoping they throw that one on the set list this weekend.

t-minus 3 days!
