another week?

Dear Monday,

Thanks for coming by again, so quickly, and with such short notice. 

It was nice of you to drop in smack in the middle of my relaxing weekend. 

I know, I'm super fun to be around. It's natural that you would want to hang out so much. But here's the thing...We need to talk.

I'd rather you hear it from me. 

I'm always going to like Friday and Saturday better than you.

Don't take this the wrong way. You're nice and all, as far as days go.

It's not you, it's me. 

Really.

We just want different things.

If you think about it, we don't really have a whole lot in common... I like to sleep, lay around, watch TV on DVD, and make my boyfriend take me to fun places to eat. You like to wake up early and be uber-productive. Plus, you're first in the line-up, and you subsequently invite an entire weeks worth of stuff into my life without asking and without giving me time to process it all. 

You don't have a hook...Take Friday, for example. The whole you-don't-have-to-do-anything tomorrow deal makes it a much more pleasant exchange. You just don't have a whole lot to look forward to. Not your fault, but still true. No offense.

You're not all bad. In fact, I really appreciate the break from work today, that was pretty cool of you, Monday. But, unfortunately, you didn't give everyone a break, which made things a little tense. Saturday still has one up on you.

Look, it's not like we won't EVER hang out. I like a productive Monday just as much as the next girl. I totally see where you are coming from with the whole "making the most out of your day" thing. I'm just saying, maybe take your time coming back around this time. 

Give me a chance to miss you a little bit.
