the power of thinking without thinking

Monday's are good for learning things about yourself.
Or, maybe they're not. Maybe the data are skewed.

I think I'm chronically indecisive.
It's a hard life.
Quite frustrating and yet completely self-inflicted.

To want something with as much gusto and passion as a 7-year-old who saw a McDonald's sign and suddenly cannot survive a moment longer without the sweet glory of french fries, only to rationalize and compare and weigh options until the proverbial fries are cold and soggy.

I'm reading this book called Blink by Malcolm Gladwell.
[and by reading I mean I have picked it up off of the shelves of the library at work and have been carrying it around with me and my good intentions for about a week now. It'll happen.]

It's about making snap decisions.
Trusting your instincts.

I'm intrigued.

  1. this reminds me of when Paul Rudd's character, in Knocked Up, says "Oh god, they go ape shit over bubbles. I wish I liked anything as much as my kids like bubbles"
